By celebrating the institution of marriage while also connecting families with personal and professional resources, Home Encouragement sets its sights on the reduction of the divorce rate in Houston. With this focus, we are partnering with many others in our area toward stronger families and more loving communities. We're all about healthier and happier marriages!
THE PROBLEM:
Houston is a massive and diversified metropolitan city with a well-deserved reputation for having a progressive "can-do" spirit behind it. But beneath the community's optimistic growth lies the hidden fact that many marriages and families are in crisis. It's no wonder. Marriage and parenting are both tough propositions! Families of all kinds need hope and encouragement. Skyrocketing divorce rates and fragile family situations continue to compromise Houston's future generations. The breakdown of the family isn't just costly to children. Divorce and unwed parenting cost U.S. taxpayers at least $112 billion annually, according to a study released April 2008. However, we believe, by God's grace, that Houstonians can partner together to reverse these trends in our city. Let's see what we can do together!
THE GOALS:
To promote the importance of premarital education for all engaged couples in the area.
To provide marriage enrichment and parenting training to Houston area married couples and families.
To comfort and connect married couples in crisis with Houston faith-based communities, family support systems and helpful individuals and couples.
To specifically encourage the healthy marriages of ministry couples and honestly address the unique challenges of those partnerships.

Home Encouragement is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides seminars, teaching retreats, and other Christ-centered marriage and family training and personal encouragement to engaged couples, married couples, churches, businesses, and organizations.
